Purpose: To increase community awareness of its right to prior consultation and participation, whose livelihoods in the saltworks are now at stake because of the installation of a lithium mine. Within a very arid region, this mine's need for water is extensive, and the group aims to gather affected communities together to demand their rights before the Supreme Court. Additionally, it will work to increase the issue's public visibility, partner with like-minded groups, and organize monthly meetings and two workshops for 200 people on the danger's of the mine's needs.

Purpose: To help Chubut residents create sustainable economic alternatives to a large mine proposed for the area. The group will provide material, forums, and advice from experts for community members on methods of diversifying production, as well as support continued opposition to the mine.

Purpose: To increase the Chubut community's awareness of the Navidad mining project. As this project has largely been pursued without the knowledge of the community and without a proper investigation on its impacts, the group will gather information and publish study findings both on the radio and in a local magazine for community residents.

Purpose: To campaign against agrotoxins and organic contaminants while supporting food and energy sovereignty. The group will train lawyers on the issues surrounding agrotoxins, food production and sovereignty, organic contaminants, and the environmental consequences of melting glaciers and dams. Additionally, it will support partner groups' activities in related fields by producing campaign and educational material and continuing local advocacy work.

Purpose: To increase the visibility of human rights violations and the criminalization of protestors among juridical agencies. Often community protests are suppressed through criminal prosecution and the group is advocating to protect their rights. The group will organize trainings to affected groups, systemize information about each criminalization case for easy reporting, and create litigation strategies for the most urgent cases.

Purpose: To improve a web portal and develop the permanent dialogue process (PPD) to explore conflicts around natural resources. It will also publish a book called the Libro Verde that outlines the key events that occur during the development of these conflicts.

Purpose: To continue a 19-year long effort to produce films to protect the one of the largest fresh water basins in Latin America. This basin, the Rio Parana, is being affected by large and aggressive development projects, and the group intends to produce educational films and materials, as well as develop a ecological debate series in the city of Rosario to raise awareness.

Purpose: To influence municipal and provincial environmental policies through reports and by improving media coverage of environmental topics. The group will develop and promote environmental solutions with environmental professionals, and it will work with media outlets on press releases. Additionally, the group will submit formal requests to authorities for information and present technical reports.

Purpose: To support the continued evaluation and documentation of environmental conflicts in Argentina. Funds will be used to analyze the role of state agencies and non-governmental organizations, obtain testimonies of communities subjected to environmental injustices, and blog about their findings in order to report on environmental conflicts and create resistance to development projects.

Purpose: To increase awareness about the importance of conserving wetlands and fisheries among local fishing communities. Funds will be used to promote the importance of artisanal fishing, continue to work with artists and the people of San Pedro Pescador to oppose the construction of a casino, and develop a resource management plan involving forest protection, trash cleanups and river protection.

Purpose: To increase the capacity of groups and communities to self-organize and work together to protect traditional ways of life and the wetlands of the Parana Delta in Argentina. Funds will be used to explore and promote integrated initiatives to support sustainable and alternative forms of development, as well as produce materials on different tools and host workshops with local leaders to formulate a strategy for future work.

Purpose: To provide legal support for artisanal fishermen in Puerto Madryn. Funds will be used to address issues around lost fishing areas by developing a plan that addresses both the conservation of natural resources and the future operations of local fisherfolk.

Purpose: To educate and build the capacity of local populations in Argentina in order to sustainably use plant resources for medicinal and fuel related purposes. Specifically, funds will be used to train local populations on this subject, produce seedlings in surrounding areas, and build the ability of populations to continue this process independently.

Purpose: To defend the natural resources of Latin America, with special attention on the protection of water resources threatened by mining projects and pollution. Funds will be used to support events that further the development of a united front against mining and extractive industries in the region.

Purpose: To strengthen internal processes in order to promote the sustainable tourism of local communities in Argentina. Funds will be used to implement new technology, develop a website, procure a computer and camera to document projects, and systemize accounting, legal, and administrative procedures.

Purpose: To assist the people of Mocovi in the Chaco region in their claims to territorial land rights and environmental rights as a part of the group's broader mission to guarantee the survival of the culture of the Mocovi. The group will organize 12 month workshops, during which they will conduct research and work with community leaders and NGOs to define the priorities for community interaction around the social and environmental issues of ethnic and territorial rights.

Purpose: To protect the Red Delta river and surrounding wetlands in the Paraná Delta area of Argentina. Funds will be used to work with coastal communities to develop management and training activities, to develop a communication and education campaign about biodiversity, to monitor illegal activities in the region, and to advocate for compliance to existing laws.

Purpose: To create awareness on the importance of preserving natural resources and exercising human rights in the Chilecito community. Specifically, the organization will create and disseminate information related to the consequences of large-scale mining projects on the environment, strengthen networks of citizens and organizations working on environmental justice, facilitate debate on unsustainable economic models promoted by the government, and contest the censorship of the media regarding related issues.

Purpose: To strengthen the communication and organization of artisanal fisherfolk in the Valdés Peninsula, with a focus on working with youth in the area. The organization will provide assistance to fisherfolk to increase their knowledge of natural resources and sustainable management, and it will work with suppliers and consumers to promote sustainable fishing and consumption practices.

Purpose: To develop alternatives to environmental and social challenges in Argentina by improving the public's knowledge and understanding of environmental issues, sustainable development, human rights, and environmental justice. Funds will be used to support and promote the reframing of public opinion on ecological politics and paradigms of sustainable development.

Purpose: To increase public participation in the development and enforcement of environmental policy in Rosario. The organization will facilitate discussion in respect to youth expressing their rights, educate youth on environmental problems and sustainable development, promote youth to taking an active role in issues related to water and its role as an element of human rights, and utilize available tools of citizen control in environmental policy.

Purpose: To support free clinics and legal consultations on environmental justice for communities in the Mesopotamia region of Argentina. These workshops will enhance local capacity to effectively engage in natural resource-related conflicts and to defend their environmental rights.

Purpose: To oppose the construction of a casino in the community of San Pedro Pescador, Colonia Benitez, Chaco, which would threaten the cultural traditions of the people who live there. The group will organize a collective artistic intervention, which will include the creation of paintings and murals to depict the community's identity, and take steps toward the declaration of cultural patrimony.

Purpose: To promote community involvement in the management of urban reserve systems in Argentina. Funds will help implement workshops with interested organizations and support a social marketing campaign by covering transportation and lodging fees, material development, radio and television slots, and consulting fees.

Purpose: To develop an agenda for addressing the impacts of gas exploration on communities and environments across Argentina. In addition to supporting the organization's weekly bulletin on environmental issues, funds will enable organization staff to travel to the Pampa, Mendoza, and Nequén regions to better understand disputes on gas exploration and to network with related organizations.

Purpose: To develop illustrated educational materials to distribute to schools, libraries, agricultural networks, and the internet that highlight the problem of the loss of food sovereignty among different communities and peoples of Argentina due to the spread of monocultures, agro fuels, and genetically modified seeds. Bios Quilmes will supplement the materials with interactive workshops and presentations.

Purpose: To address environmental issues in the communities of Cordoba, including getting protection status for 500,000 hectares of forests. Funds will also be used to organize campaigns and produce a technical report outlining the health problems of people in the area, many of which are caused by poor maintenance of the municipal sewage system and pesticides in drinking water.

Purpose: To work with local recyclers and trash pickers of the city of La Plata to gather information about solid waste management; help cooperatives participate in decisions about waste management; and publish a manual for the public about trash separation before recycling. Additional activities include organizing a workshop to raise awareness in the public's role in waste management.

Purpose: To publish a book about the biodiversity of Paraná, Argentina, which will be distributed freely to educational institutions, libraries, community centers, and neighborhood groups in the region. This book, authored by Francisco Rodríguez, will include a combination of photographs, poems, and scientific data that will contribute to a greater cultural awareness of the local environment.

Purpose: To promote sustainable tourism as an economic alternative to fishing in El Riacho. Specifically, funds will be used to design a tourist brochure; to educate local fisherfolk and their families about the business of tourism; to inform and involve the local government in the project; and to expand the tourism infrastructure in the area.

Purpose: To resist the expansion of oil exploration in northern Patagonia. Specifically, funds will be used to create a daily communication and weekly newsletter that will disseminate information and updates about oil activities in this areas to create a publication titled, Agua Viva, that will address the uses, cultural value, and impact of the hydrocarbon industry.

Purpose: To conduct a community-based assessment and mapping of natural resources in the La Estrella region, with special emphasis to promote the participation of women and youth in the project. Capacity-building workshops on leather tanning, sustainable tourism, artisanal craft-making, and grassland management will also be held.

Purpose: To implement Campaign Pride and inspire member of the communities around the Rio Gallegos estuary to support the conservation of the ecosystem, which is currently polluted. The campaign will have two stages, a participatory planning stage and an implementation stage.

Purpose: To organize a series of roundtable discussions and workshops and bring in experts to discuss environmental issues in Puerto Madryn. Additionally, funds will be used to design and publish educational pamphlets and to purchase a laptop and printer.

Purpose: To implement environmental education initiatives in local schools and to produce and distribute informational materials regarding the negative socio-environmental impacts of the mining and monoculture industries. This organization works locally and regionally to increase public participation in decision-making processes regarding issues of water, health, society and politics.

Purpose: To strengthen interregional cooperation among members of the Union de Asambleas Ciudadanas (Union of Citizen Assemblies) by developing a website to improve information exchange. The site will create a space for members to discuss the effects of large-scale open pit mining, as well as strategies used to fight mining in their regions.

Purpose: To assess the viability of a protected area that would potentially encompass part of the El Palmar River watershed in the Entre Rios region. Activities include GIS mapping and gathering information from local residents to gauge interest levels in collaborating on this project.

Purpose: To develop a legal strategy to combat the exploitative practices of large-scale mining operations in Argentina in cooperation with the Union of Citizen Assemblies. Specifically, funds will cover the administrative and travel costs associated with organizing regional and national meetings with members of the Assemblies.

Purpose: To monitor the Paraguay and Parana River fisheries and to train community members in sustainable river management. This organization works to promote and defend the rights of fisher people in the Chaco region.

Purpose: To increase public participation in mega-development projects that are part of the Initiative for the Integration of Regional Infrastructure (IIRSA). Activities include monthly workshops, roundtables, and debates to provide forums for public participation.

Purpose: To implement an environmental education initiative focused on reducing consumerism and building awareness about the negative impacts of biofuels. Activities include producing a documentary for school-age audiences.

Purpose: To document the negative socio-environmental impacts of the oil industry on indigenous Mapuche communities in Rio Negro and Neuquen. The results will be distributed to a wide audience.

Purpose: To hold a series of media campaigns to build public awareness of environmental issues in Cordoba. Issues include education about the negative impacts of pesticide use and consumption, monitoring water quality in the Suquia River, and promoting the conversion of an old military base into a city park.

Purpose: To fund a tour among eight communities in the Missions Province that explains issues facing small-scale fishermen in maintaining a sustainable livelihood. The tour will include a performance, mural-painting, and information distribution in each community.

Purpose: To organize a seminar entitled Building Capacity for the Sustainability of the Plata Watershed. The objective of the seminar is to mobilize campaigns throughout the watershed to address the negative socio-environmental impacts of regional mega-projects associated with the Initiative for the Integration of Regional Infrastructure (IIRSA) initiative.

Purpose: To design and implement an environmental education initiative in Mendoza, which will involve the participation of more than 35 indigenous Huarpe families as well as the regional municipality. The initiative will support efforts to create the first protected zone in the region, and will be managed entirely by Huarpe indigenous groups.

Purpose: To create six youth eco-clubs that cultivate environmental leaders and awareness. Activities include producing a video documenting the successful citizen campaign to block a dam on the Parana Madio River, demonstrating the powerful impact of collective action.

Purpose: To send a leader of the community to a key international meeting on indigenous rights, thereby giving them a chance to voice their concerns around oil development in front of an international audience and network with those facing similar challenges.

Purpose: The organization works to regain the fundamental rights of the Mapuche people, whose community is threatened by unrestricted extraction of natural resources in their ancestral territories. This grant will allow one Mapuche representative to attend a conference in Madrid of communities affected by the oil company Repsol.

Purpose: To present a range of workshops to community leaders whose communities depend on the natural resources of riparian areas. Topics include biodiversity conservation, community organizing, and the inclusion of women in all stages of projects.

Purpose: To gather and disseminate information on the IIRSA water highway project planned for the Paraguay-Paraná River. Experts predict devastating environmental impacts from this vast project.

Purpose: To fund an environmental publication, a radio announcement, and a video that will teach the importance of conserving water resources. Also to support five environmental youth groups working in areas where water issues are prevalent.

Purpose: To strengthen the organization's capacity to act as a nationwide networking hub for environmental organizations.
