Our Work By Issue

Unchecked oil development pollutes rivers, displaces local communities, and harms human health. Over-fishing destroys marine ecosystems, damages coastlines, and devastates local economies. It’s rare that a single environmental issue has just one environmental effect; the impact of one event on a local ecosystem can reverberate within local economies and social structures, and can even spread across the entire planet. Because of this environmental ripple effect, our grantees are rarely tackling just one issue. However, issue areas are one way of categorizing and understanding the most important challenges that our grantees face.

These are some of the issues that our network is taking on in the struggle for environmental justice.
