Sayano-Shushenskaya Dam Explosion Causes Oil Spill

In late August one of the transformers in the Sayano-Shushenskaya Dam, located east of Moscow in the Khakassia region of Siberia, exploded. The explosion caused massive amounts of oil to spill into the Yenisei River, which runs into the Arctic Sea. Read more
