I CatWalk for Water Campaign

Global Greengrants Fund has been selected as one of four beneficiaries in Aveda’s I CatWalk for Water campaign. This campaign is a call to action to protect clean water rights across the globe by encouraging people to sponsor models, designers, hair stylists, and makeup artists at New York Fashion Week’s Fall/Winter 2009 shows. In this first-ever “catwalk-athon”, awareness and funds will be raised to protect local waterways, promote organic farming, dig wells, and help make clean water accessible to everyone.

Each participant (model, designer, hair stylist, or makeup artist) will choose which of the four charities they would like to support. Other beneficiaries include The Surfrider Foundation, Clean Ocean Action, and the Natural Resources Defense Council. Individuals can then become sponsors of these participants. Aveda hairstylists will be participating in shows February 17-19, 2009.

As Aveda’s Global Earth Month partner, Global Greengrants Fund is excited to be part of this new initiative.
