Alliance Magazine Essay Contest

Alliance Magazine, in association with the Environmental Funders Network, is hosting an essay contest on the subject of global warming. Specifically, they are asking for essay submissions answering the question: “As a philanthropist, how would you spend $10 million to combat global warming?” The prize for the winning essay is £1,000 and publication in both the December issue of Alliance Magazine and on the Alliance website. The contest is open to the global public and the deadline for submission is September 30, 2009. All submissions will be judged by an international panel, to be announced.

Alex comes to Global Greengrants with a background in indigenous rights, women’s rights, and environmental policy. She previously developed communications content and strategy for The Center of Effective Global Action at U.C. Berkeley and The Climate Reality Project. Alex has a M.A. in Latin American Studies from Boston University and a B.A. in International Relations and Anthropology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
