Meet the indigenous mother of three and Goldman Environmental Prize winner in Chicago on December 10. A former grant recipient of Global Greengrants Fund, Mama Aleta is a powerful voice against mining interests that threaten her ancestral forest. Read about her courageous work.

Mama Aleta will talk about the status of her community’s efforts to protect their environment from extractive industries, her experience speaking in forums leading up to the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Paris (COP21), and how international policy decisions made at COP21 would impact local communities combating climate change around the world.
