Von Hernandez, 2003 Goldman Environmental Prize Winner

 

Von Hernandez, was honored with a 2003 Goldman Environmental Prize, considered to be the Nobel Prize for grassroots environmental leaders, for his work campaigning against waste incineration in the Philippines and beyond. Among his many roles in this struggle, Von is International Co-coordinator of the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives, a Greengrants grantee. We congratulate and thank Von Hernandez and all of our great grantees for taking the initiative to work for positive change against tremendous odds.
