Chinese Grantee Member Receives Scholarship

Ms. Li Yue, a leading member of the Petroleum and Environment Network (PEN), a Greengrants grantee, was awarded a substantial scholarship to study for a master’s degree at Stanford University, beginning in September of this year. Her focus will be energy and environmental and natural resources. Greengrants has supported PEN with four grants over the last several years to research environmental impacts of oil and natural gas exploitation in Northwest China, particularly China’s West-to-East natural gas pipeline project. Li Yue was a key member of the investigative team. We wish her luck and expect to see more of her in China’s growing environmental movement in the future!

Global Greengrants Fund

Global Greengrants Fund believes solutions to environmental harm and social injustice come from people whose lives are most impacted. Every day, our global network of people on the frontlines and donors comes together to support communities to protect their ways of life and our planet. Because when local people have a say in the health of their food, water, and resources, they are forces for change.
